1. Why should you order wedding stationery early?

Starting this process early enough allows you more creative freedom as you have time to explore themes, colors and different variations. You will have time to finalize your guest list as well which can be essential cost savings as you know your number is as accurate as possible. Of course you will enjoy the peace of mind after knocking this part of wedding planning off of the list.

2. When should you order springtime wedding stationery?

As early as possible: Establishing potential colors, themes and styles should happen as soon as possible; these will lay the foundation for all other stationery decisions. Consider embracing the springtime your wedding is taking place in. There are many lovely colors and tones to lean on at this time.

10 months out: Research and pick a stationery designer/stationer, like me, so that you can start discussing your ideas with your designer. Make sure to consider a stationer that has experience with designs you like or you think could share in your vision for awesome designs.

8-9 months out: Finalize your concept and designs and really lock in on your colors. You can now hope to get that first draft of your stationery and give yourself time for some revisions to make it just right.

7-9 months out: Work with your stationer to revise and refine your designs. This includes your invitations, RSVPs, signage and any other items.

6-9 months out: The moment of truth. It is time to get your stationery ordered from the printer.  It’s important to remember a few extras for little slip ups.

5-6 months out: It is likely that your invitations will require some level of assembly. It’s also important to consider how your invitations will be addressed. If you are hand addressing them you will want to allow ample time to do so. I do offer addressing as a part of the printing services if you want to save yourself time and a sore hand.

4-6 months out: Send out your save the dates to allow your guests ample time to plan and set aside time for your big day!

2-3 months out: It is time to send out your invitations and by doing it at this time it allows plenty of time for your guests to get the RSVP back to you and have a concrete number of guests attending.
